DELAY TO EXPRESS.
SOUTH ISLAND LINE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, .Tan. 26. The express from the south was late this evening because the Westingliouse braking system was found to be defective in*one of the carriages, which was taken off at Temuka The express arrived at Christchurch at 8.5 instead of 7.26 and the Waihine’s departure was delayed till 9.10 p.m.
