HEALTH STAMPS.
RESULTS OF CAMPAIGN. WELLINGTON, Jan. 26. The results or the health stamp campaign to the end of the year were announced this evening by the Post-master-General (Hon. F. Jones). He said that 747,735 health stamps had been sold up till December 31, and that the benefit to the camps to that date was as follows : —From stamp sales, £3116 4s 3d; from donations, £452 9s 6d; total, £3568 13s 9d.
The Minister said that experience of past appeals had prompted the anticipation that the health camps for undernourished children would be generously remembered during the season of goodwill. His belief had been justified by results, for during the period from December 16 to December 31, no fewer than 101,286 health stamps were sold. Half of the amount paid for each stamp went without deduction to the credit of the health camps, and the Post Office also received many generous donations the result over the Christinas period being that health camps received a credit approaching £SOO.
