PAHIATUA SHOW.
Splendid entries are coming to hand for (ho Paliiatua Show, to bo held on Saturday, February 12th, and all the signs and tokens would seem to portend that the 28th annual fixture will bo the most successful in the history of the association. Remarkably large entries are being received for the jumping competitions and hack classes, while the cattle and sheep sections promiso to be numerically stronger than in previous years, with quality well to the fore. Very fine entries are being scheduled for the chopping events and dog trial. A ten-guinea cup has been donated for most points in tho axemen’s competitions. The first prize in the open hunters’ leaping contest has been increased to £2O, in addition to which there is a valuable cup and an aneroid barometer. A loud speaker will bo installed on tho ground, and the results of the principal events announced from time to time. A choice programme of recorded music will be rendered throughout the interludes An outstanding attraction of the Show is Carnival Park, a beautiful belt of native bush, some 15 acres in extent, adjoining the Showgrounds. Here an ample supply of boiling water is always available and tables and seating accommodation provided for picnic parties. It is a delightful spot and its charm and allurement are unsurpassed.
