HEALTH DISTRICT.
SEPARATE NEW AREA. PALMERSTON NORTH AS CENTRE From February 1 Palmerston North will be the centre for a new and separate Health Department district. Formerly part of the Wellington Health District, this area will cover a large territory extending from the Horowhenua county to the Patea county, inclusive, and from the Hawke’s Bay county to llangitikei county, inclusive. This departure has been made necessary by the growth and increasing importance of the area, and Palmerston North will be the headquarters for the rearranged terr'tory, which is to b° known as the Welling-ton-Hnwke’s Bay district.
Dr. D. Cook, as previously announced. will be stationed at this centre as district medical officer for the Health Department.
