SUPREME COURT

CALENDAR FOR SESSION. FEW CRIMINAL CASES. The quarterly session of the Supreme Court, which opens at Palmerston North on Tuesday next with His Honour Sir John Reed presiding, is expected to have a duration of about two weeks. Probably there will be three criminal cases, involving a number of charges, and all of a lengthy nature. Eight civil cases are set down for hearing, two being before the Judge alone, two before the Judge and a jury of four, and two before the Judge and a jury of twelve. Nine petitions in divorce, one of which is defended, are listed, a.nd there are four motions for decrees absolute.

There is one appeal case and one originating summons, with two for discharge in bankruptcy, and 20 motions for the rele.aso of the Official Assignee from administration.
