(From Our Own Correspondent.) WHAKARONGO, Jan. 25.

Tlioso in attendance at the School Committee meeting were Messrs M. E. Knudsen, A. Harrowficld, D. Cresswcll and L. Newcombc. Further arrangements regarding the programme, etc., for tho school and institute picnic were held over pending a conference with the institute. The long grass in the school grounds is to bo mown, and tho committee decided to purchase more wood-work tools, also a school globe, a large atlas, an encyclopaedia, and other material.

' Tho following A grade players will represent the Tennis Club on Saturday in a competition match with Poliangina at Pohangina: Misses J. Wood, E. Christiansen, E. Wood, C. W. Yautier, and S. A. Oxenham, L. Little, F. W. Eagle and W. Bainbridgc. Tho B team to play Northern on tho local courts will be Miss M. Sly, Mrs S. Oxenham, Misses H. Wood and M. Hodgson and R. Meyer, M. Phillip, P. Cater, and P. Koehler. Tho emcr gencics will be Miss I. Johanson and K. Woodd.

Mr and Mrs E. L. - Smith, of Napier Road, have had as their guests Mr and Mrs Smith and Miss Elaine Smith, of Morrinsville. Mr D. Edwards is suffering from a sprained ankle.
