WOODVILLE.
WOODVILLE, Jan. 25. Mr and Airs N J. Gilbert have returned from a motor tour of the North Island. Misses L. Tyler and D. A. Coe have been appointed probationary assistants at the Woodville school. Mr J. Mules and Miss Mules, of Wellington, have been visiting their father, Dr. P. H. Mules. The friends of Air H. W. Hammond will regret to learn that he is indisposed. Air J. Livingstone presided at the monthly meeting of the Southern Hawke’s Bay executive of the Farmers’ Union, when, with regard to the move for the separation of the Dannevirke, Woodville. and Weber counties from the Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board, the secretary (Air S. M. Quigley) reported that, although excellent progress had been made with tho petitions in most areas, there wore still some petitions to como in. It was decided to make every effort to get the petitions completed as soon as possible. A recommendation of the Wanganui executive that the order paper at the inter-provincial conference comprise not more than 60 remits and that the time specified for conference lie devoted exclusively to discussion of remits, was agreed to. After an enjoyable time spent under canvas at Havelock North, the Woodville Girl Guide Company, which was under the charge of Aliss J. Beattie, has returned home. _ Aliss AlcHardy, the District Commissioner, was the camp commandant and she was assisted by Aliss Cooper, of Hastings, assistant commandant, Aliss Beattie, of AVoodville, quartermaster; Aliss Ensor, of Napier, and Aliss Wallace, of Waipawa. The total camp complement was 42, comprising guides from AVoodville (6), Waipukurau (6), Takapau (4), AVaipawa (3), Hastings (12), Napier (8), and three lone guides.
