FURTHER IMPROVEMENT.

A further improvement has taken place in the citv's water supply with the cooler weather of yesterday, and the reservoir at Tiritea has received a large amount of fresh water as a result of the fall of rain in the hills. The lowest point reached by the water running over the by-way was threequarters of an inch. Yesterday there was a run-off of five inches, but this morning, with the cessation of the rain, the figure was two inches. There have been no flood conditions to discolour the flow, as the water came into the dam quietly.
