FITNESS CAMPAIGN.

BRITISH PROVISIONS.

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Jan. 24

Public bodies have been authorised by the Minister of Health (Sir Kingsley Wood) to borrow £22,231,605 for capital expenditure during the final quarter of 1937, an increase of £2,700,000 over that for the same period of 1936. The borrowing of nearly £10,000,000 is sanctioned for housing and large sums are also authorised for new and better schools.

Tho present national fitness campaign gives special interest to loans authorised for tho erection of gymnasia and swimming pools, and for the purchase of land for playing fields, amounting to over £860,000.
