NATIONAL FLOWER SHOW. OPENED AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 25. Floral magnificence never scon before in Christchurch, if not in New Zealand, distinguished the National Flower Show, which to-day transformed the- steel beams and iron _ roof of the King Edward Barracks into a paradise of colour.. Exhibits 1 1*0111 all parts of New Zealand made the entries a record and special displays? m - ranged with great care and attention to detail, came from the various provincial districts and from nurserymen and seedsmen. , . . A superb display was staged by the reserves department of the City Council, occupying 75 yards of wall space and providing the most comprehensive and gorgeous display of hardy flowers 1 and shrubs ever seen in the Dominion, and which would be hard to bettei 111 unv part of the world. 1 The show was opened this afternoon and will remain open until to-morrow | night.
