STOREROOMS GUTTED.

STOCK DESTROYED. One end of a row of storerooms at the rear of the Princess Hotel, Terrace End, was gutted bv fire very early this morning. Although the flames had a good hold when the Palmerston North Fire Brigade was summoned at 1.44 a.m., they were extinguished before damage con'd he done to the main building. The value of the stock destroyed has not, as yet, been estimated. A telephone call and two summonses from street alarm boxes served to sound a‘ general alarm at the Fire Station, three engines turning out. Two leads of hose were brought to bear on the fire.
