TALLOW AND HEMP QUIET. The Department of Agriculture has rcr coivcd the following cablegram from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated January 21, 1938: Tallow.-—Market continues quiet on spot, with prices unchanged, Ilcmp.—Manila; Market quiet and easier, Value “K” grade Jaiuniry-March shipment, £23 15s. Output January 1 to 17, 47,000 hales, against 58,000 same period last year. Slocks in the United Kingdom on December 31, 9850 bales, against 6203 same time last year. Stocks •in Manila, January 17, 173,000 bales, against 159,000 bales. Sisal: Market dull; no business reported. Values nominal on basis of No. 1 January-Marc'i shipments, £lB 10s. New Zealand: Market nominal and unchanged. Slocks in London, January 1, 27 lons, against 36 lons at the same time last year.
