Friday’s closing prices for raw materials were as follow, those for January 14 being shown in parentheses: Cotton. —Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 4.93 d a lb (5.02 d) ; February delivery, 4.79 d a lb (4.87 d). Rubber. —Pura, 7d a lb (7&d): plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 7jd a lb (7id). .Jute.—January-Fcbruary shipment, Indian jute, Dundee quotation, £l9 a ton (same). Copra.—January-February shipment, sundried South Sea. to London or Rotterdam, £l2 2s 6d a ton (£l2 12s 6d); smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £l2 a ton (£l2 7s 6d); plantation Rabaul. to London or Rotterdam, £l3 a ton (£l3 7s 6d). Linseed oil. —£30 10s a ton (same). Turpentine.—34s a cwt (same).
