SENIOR B.

Y.M.C.A. v. KIA TOA. Feilding ten men, the Y.M.C.A. side underwent a batting slump when they faced the Kia Toa bowling, Shailer taking four wickets for 11 runs and It. Wasley three for 22. Struthers, who added 31 runs, was the only one to make a stand. Although he gave one chance, he performed well and four fours were included in his contribution. Being all out for 58, the Y.M.C.A. batsmen went too fast for Struthers to make a large total, even though he was in at first wicket down and not out on the last man’s dismissal. Holland, the wicketkeeper, one of the opening batsmen, was the only other to reach double figures, doing that by way of three fours and one single. Kia Toa had five wickets down for 78 runs, but Piercey and Shailer were then together for a partnership which took the total to 138. Struthers at that point broke up the partnership. Coming on late, he had five overs and left the field with three wickets for 17 runs. Kia Toa were all out for 1(53, Piercey being top-scorer with 49. Two Y.M.C.A. wickets fell for 19 runs before the close of play. Details: V Y.M.C.A. \ First Innings. Holland, b R. Wnslev 15 McKenzie, li R.
