At the Taranaki Caledonian games at Hawera on Saturday the New Zealand Highland reel championship was won by Miss June Scott, Palmerston North, with D. Bothwell second. The North Island championship, slow Highland airs, was won by Murdo Mackenzie, Miasterton, with A. Kirkland, New Plymouth, second. In the North Island championship men’s sword dnnee Bothwell was first and Claude Henderson second. In addition to winning the Highland reel open championship, Miss Scott was awarded first, place in swords and Highland fling, second in seantrinblias, also third in the Irish jig. Ruth. McDowall, a pupil of Miss Scott, gained third place in Highland fling (under 10). ___ .
