LAWN TENNIS
MANAWATU TITLES. WOMEN’S PLAY DECIDED. Play in the annual district championships of the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association was continued on Saturday afternoon, the Linton Street courts being utilised for the men’s games and the Northern courts for the women’s. 111 the men’s section in particular the entries were good and it was not possible to complete the events in one day. The women’s section, however, was not so well supported and tho finals were decided during the afternoon, Mrs J. C. McDonald (Palmerston North) won the women’s championship singles, Mrs New (Palmerston North) the handicap singles, and Misses Barnett and Robertson (Palmerston North) the handicap doubles.
