FEILDING STOCK SALE.

LOWER VALU ES ~FO R FAT SHEEP. STORE SHEEP”SELL WELL. At the weekly stock sale at Feilding yesterday a medium entry of wethers and lambs came forward in the fat sheep section, but although the quality was good in most cases buyers were not prepared to come up to the vendors’ prices, and a number of pens were passed. Of the sales effected the values were fully 3s lower than those of last week’s sale.

Among the sales were the following: 5 woolly lambs on account, Miss B. Geo, Bunnythorpe, 21s; a pen of 12 wethers, from Beaconsfield, 225, and another pen on account T. llelski,. at 24s Bd. Six ewes on account Mrs Tv. Pearson made 15s 7d. while eight on account J. Corpe realised 19s 3d. J. G. Currie’s 10 ewes made 17s Id.

Quotations are: Lambs, £2 4s at 17s, 18 at 19s, 24 at 19s, 19 at 20s, 18 at ?2s 9d, 5 at 235; wethers, 4 at 18s. 12 at 21s 3d, one at 21s 9d, 27 at 21s 4d, 46 at 21s lOd, 16 at 22 s 3d, 57 at 22s 9d, 20 at 235, 20 at 23s Id, 18 at 245, 8 at 24s 2d, 3 woollv at 25s 9d, 2 at 27s 9d ; b.f.’s, 17 at 21s 6xl, 17 at 21s lOd, 9 at 22s 6d, 6 at 24s 3d, ewes, 30 at 16s 10d. STORE SHEEP. Although fat sheep slipped back in value, such was not the case in respect of store sheep, which were sold to good competition at values on a par with late quotations. The sheep offered in this section were superior in quality to last week’s entry of stores, and there was a particularly good yarding. The moderate entry of lat cattle, principally made up of cows, sold to good competition. Among the sales effected were the following: Cows: On account T. O’Regan, one at £6 10s; on account J. W. Clevely, two at £4 11s and one at £5 2s Gd; on account A. H. McGuinness, 4 at £4 18s; on. account J. Whittaker, one at £4 lis 6d; on account J. E. Lund, one at £6 2s 6d; on account T. O’Regan, 3 at £5 ss, £5 15s, £6 ss; on account C. McKinnon, one at £4 17s Gd ; on account M, C. Entwisle, one at £4 7s. 6d Heifers: Two on account A. H. McGuinness-, £5 ;7s 6d and £5 15s. Yealers: One on account J. Whittaker, £2; two on account T. O’Regan, £2 14s; one runner on account, L. A. J. Henson, £4 12s Gel. Quotations are: —Cows, £4, £4 ss, £4 9s, £4 15s, £5, £5 ss. £5 12s 6d, £5 17s "Gd; P.A.’s, £7; Holstems, £7; steers, £5 £7 os; vealer £3. DAIRY CATTLE.

The prices for springing dairy cows were as follow: —Spg. heifers, £4, £5 ss, £6, £7 ss; spg. cows £5 os £6 ss, £6 12s 6d; weaner heifers, £1 10s. -The entry was very small. STORE CATTLE. Only a light entry of store cattle came ‘forward, the prices for cows ranging from £2 5s to £4 10&.

AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on the Feilding sale: —Approximately 13,000 sheep were, penned, the bulk of the yarding comprising lambs with ■a few pens of good 5-yr and 0-yr ewes. The market for lambs was firmer oil last week’s sale, and a steady; demand lesulted throughout the auction, with a complete clearance at prices satisfactory to vendors. Great interest was taken' in the annual draft of 6-vr ewes from Mr W. A. Coombs, of Pohangina, which realised 22s 3d. A pen of 6-yr ewes from Mr J. L. W. McLeaig of Tiritea, were sold at 20s 3d, and a draft of 4-tli, 6-tli, 8-tli and 5vr ewes from Mr J. Montgomery, ]unr., of Awahou, Ashhurst, realised 23s Bd. We also report on account of Mr D. L. Younger, Cinderhill, the sale of a pen of good white-face wether lambs at 18s. Fat sheep: Only a small entry' was penned and prices showed a drop of fully 2s on recent sales. Fat cattle: There was a. nominal entry only and prices were easier. Store cattle: A small entry in this section sold at prices on a par with last week’s rates. We quote: Fat wethers, 21s 6d ,to 27s 9d; fat ewes,. 16 s lOd; woollv h.f. lambs, 13s Gd; shorn b.f. wethers. 13s to 14s 8d; cull b.f. lambs, 8s to 10s Id; good 1. and f. w.f.w. lambs, 15s to 18s; medium do., 12s 6d to 14s; cull do., 7s to 9s; 4, 6-th, 8-th and 5-vr ewes, 23s 8d ; 6-yr ewes, 20s 3d to 22s 3d; heifers r.w.b., £5 ss; dairv cows r.w.b., £5 5s to £6 I2s 6d; fat cows, ex-dairy, £4 10s to £5; fat heifers, £5 10s to £6 10s; vealers, £2 to £3; runners. £4 12s 6d ; store .cows, £2 2s 6d to £3 12s Gd.

HUNTERVILLE SALE. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co.,.Ltd., report an entry of 2500 sheep at the above sale on Thursday. The yarding comprised principally lambs with a few pens of breeding ewes. Compared with our previous sale at this fixture, lambs showed a decided drop, principally caused through the drv weather. However, vendors were ail prepared to-meet the market. Most of the breeding ewes Jailed to reach vendors’ reserves. We quote: Bst w.f.w: • lambs-, shorn, to 16s 4d; good medium ditto, 12s 9d to 13s lOd; small, 8s 40 to 10s; culls, 5s to '6s'Gd; medium h.f.. lambs, 12s to 12s 3d; ■small. 8s 3d; culls, 3s 9d; medium ewe lambs, 15s'3d'to'17s 9d ; fair ditto, to 14s 2d; culls,. 6s 3d to 8s 3d; aged ewes, 11s 8d: fat and forward cows, £2 10s to' £3.
