CANTERBURY MARKETS.
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 21. Wheat is now being delivered fairly fast, and it appears that / the seasbn will’be in full swing within the next fortnight. Most of the samples that have so far come to hand have been from North Canterbury, but a number have also appeared from the Rakaia district. The quality in. every case is excellent, and the yields are reported to be better than expected, though not enough is in to make any estimate of the increase. Oats are coming in fairly freely, mainly Algerians, though some Gnrtons have been handled. The quality is good and- the price for a good sample is 3s for both Algerians and Gartons. No interest is at present shown in potatoes. The crons are Jooking exceedingly well and the yield from the larger area promises to be heavy. Small seed crops have not yet been delivered in any quantity.
