HOW NEW ZEALANDERS FARED. . SYDNEY, Jan. 21. Overnight rain completely disorganised the howls single-handed tournament in which New Zealanders are engaged. No play was possible before lunch on any greens, while there was no play on ma.ny greens after lunch. On 6ome greens only one match out of four was played. On others bowlers were without opponents, who assumed that play was impossible and failed to appear. New Zealanders who played and won to-day were : —W. Pomeroy, 21—13 ; H. Clark, 21—17; H. Bray, 21—17; Dr. Austin. 23—19; R. Carbines, 21—18; J. Proud, 21—16; B. Evans, 23—18; F. Livingstone,223; W. Whitaker, 21—13. New Zealanders who lost were: J. Anchor, 16—21; A. Chambers. 17—23; L. Goldfinch, 16—21; R. Somervell, 19—21; Dr. Whiteside, 18—21; W. Ure, 17—21.
