CONFIRMATION WANTED. Received January 22, 11.40 a.m. SHANGHAI, Jan. 21. Mr Yang-Fo-Hyueu, a member of the Civic Association was assassinated to-day when entering his home in the French Concession. The Domei News Agency, states the British United Press Shanghai correspondent, says that Mr /Temperley’s message quoted the North China Daily News’s story confirming his own information of the Japanese atrocities in the Nanking area. The Japanese censor said that they were unsubstantiated reports, maliciously intended to besmirch the good name of the Japanese army.
