HOLIDAY RACING
ANNIVERSARY DAY MEETINGS ASHHURST CUP ATTRACTION Four race meetings were in progress to-day, which was observed as the Anniversary Day holiday in the Wellington province. Local interest centred on the Ashhurst-Pohangma meeting, one of the most popular on the country circuit, and it drew a very large attendance. The track was fast and excellent racing was provided. The Wellington Racing Club’s meeting entered upon its third and concluding day at Trentham, while the Thames Jockey Club’s meeting opened, and the Wail’io races were held in the South Island.
