MR LANG’S MOVE
SYDNEY LABOUR ORGAN. UNEXPECTED DEVELOPMENT. LEADER MAY LEAVE PARTY. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Reeived January 22, 8.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 21. A sensational development in official Labour circles to-night was an announcement that Mr J. T. Lang (Leader of the State Opposition) had given notice to the board of directors of the Labour Daily newspaper of his intention to call up the principal second debenture of £13,764, together with interest amounting to £3400, and, in the event of a default, he intended to appoint the receiver as manager of the newspaper. . It is expected that Mr Lang will, in due course, quit the Labour movement and that the Labour Daily will fall into the hands of the industrial section, composed largely of miners, who for years have contributed largely to the support of the paper.
