RELIGIOUS FILMS.
Several English clergymen have secured surprising results within recent months by showing films in their churches as a regular part of their Sunday services. The Religious Film Society, which has prepared a largo number of film services for church uso and also provides projectors, is being. inundated by inquiries from clergymen all over the country. Last year the first steps toward forming a branch of this society in New Zealand were taken, and a later development has been fostered by the Methodist Home Mission Department, which has equipped its backblock colporteur van with a standard talking picture outfit and a full programme of outstanding films, with scenic supports. This van is now in the Manawatu district, in charge of Rev. C. H. Bell, whose visit will provide an exceptional opportunity for all to see and hear and judge for themselves as to the value and influence of this new venture. Meetings to be held in the Foilding circuit are advertised elsowhero in this issue.
