LONDON, Jan. 13. The correspondent of the British United Press at Capetown says: “A picture in the Micliaelis collection here which has been described in the catalogue for many years as ‘A Taxidermist’ attributed to the Dutch painter De Gelder and insured for £SOO. is now said bv the trustees to be ‘Housewife Plucking a Fowl,’ by Rembrandt, painted in 1630. The painting is now said to be worth several thousand pounds. “The discovery was made by Dr Abraham Bredius who is a Rembrandt authority. The picture is now on its way to Holland for cleaning.”
