BATTLE IN DESERT.

FIFTY REPORTED DEAD. JERUSALEM, Jan. 20. An unconfirmed report states that a serious desert battle in which at least 50 were killed, was fought between two Bedouin tribes near the frontier of Iraq and Transjordania as the result of attempted cattle-stealing. MERELY MANOEUVRES. Received January 21, 10.55 a.m. JERUSALEM, Jan. 20. An official has stated that the desert battle was merely tribal manoeuvres under a British officer.
