PIG GRADING.

PROTEST AT METHOD. Per Press Association. WHANGAREI, -Tan. 19. The Northland district Pig .Council opposed the new grading regulations which come into force shortly without length of carcase being taken into account.

.The following telegram was sent to the Director-General ,of Agriculture. Mr A. H. Cockayne: “The Northland Pig Council views with alarm the gazetting of pig-grading regulations on February 1 with a total disregard for length, and respectfully suggests that the gazetting be postponed until an opportunity is given to submit further evidence on the necessity for including length in the regulations.” The secretary stated that grading without length was a retrograde step, and it would be a big mistake to allow the regulations to be gazetted as they stood.
