DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 19. An inquest was opened to-day before Mr F. K. Hunt, Coroner, on a boy of six years, Paorini Ainnninson, who collapsed while under an anaesthetic in the Auckland Hospital on Monday evening.

Evidence was given by the hoy’s/ father, Peter Ammunson, of Avondale, that the boy enjoyed good health, but on Sunday last complained of stomach ache. By Monday he had developed a temperature and a doctor was called. The latter diagnosed appendicitis and the hoy was admitted to hospital that afternoon a.nd died under an anaesthetic.

“We had fish for tea last Friday and the child told me he had swallowed a small piece of fishbone,” said Mr Amman.son. “hut the piece was apparently swallowed easily, for he did not appeal to worry over it. It did not cause him any pain.” The inquest, was adjourned.
