BOUT FOR BARNEY ROSS. CHICAGO, Jan. 18. The manager of the world’s welterweight boxing champion, Barney Ross, Mr Sain Plan, has announced that l)p has received an offer from the Australian promoter,- Dir Charles Lucas, for Jack Carroll to fight Ross at Sydney on April 18 for 40,000 dollars, plus 5000 dollars expenses, with a deposit of 20,000 dollars to be sent to Chicago immediately. He, however, is demanding 45,000 dollars, plus 7000 dollars expenses. BRADDOCK CONFIDENT. BOUT WITH FARR. NEW YORK, Jan. is. J. J. t Braddock to-day sparred six rounds in preparation for his bout with Tommy Farr, the British champion, oil January 21. Braddock’s manager said he thought Braddock would beat Farr easily. Farr rested all day. He will have his final work-out to-morrow.
