ASHHURST RACES.
MEETING ON SATURDAY. The Ashhurst-Pohangina Racing Club is making arrangements for a record crowd at its holiday meeting to be held on Saturday next (Anniversary Day). Excellent fields are engaged, and special interest will attach to the Ashhurst Cup and Gorge Hack Cup, there being very large entries for the latter event. Numbers of horses are forgoing third day engagements at Wellington to race at Ashhurst. Improvements have been made to the course appointments since the last meeting. Betting will be on the singel pool system with a dividend indicator.
