BUTTER AND CHEESE SHIPMENTS.

GERMANY TAKES SUPPLIES. Shipments of butter from New Zealand last month totalled 18,195 tons, an increase of 387 tons compared with December, 1936, according to the latest figures supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department. Shipments of butter for the five months of the 1937-38_ season, ended December 31, totalled 64,627 tons, compared with 62,631 tons for the corresponding period of the previous season, an increase of 2496 tons. For this increase Germany is responsible for 1000 tons, shipped in December. London absorbed practically tile same tonnage as tho previous season, while West Coast United Kingdom shipments have increased by about 1200 tons. Details of the shipments compare

During last December Australia sent 11,512 tons of butter to the United Kingdom, compared with 6075 tons in December, 1936, an increase of 5437 tons. For the five months Australian shipments increased from 29,050 tons to 36,917 tons.
