INLAND AIR MAIL.

Further evidence of the steady growth of the internal air services is provided in the latest returns issued by the Post Office. For the week ended December 26 last a total of 46.887 letters was conveyed by air mail, compared with a total of 22,843 for the corresponding week in the previous year. The average weekly total is now in the vicinity of 40,000 letters in comparison with an average of 12,000 lettters shortly after the service was commenced. A similar increase is recorded in air parcel traffic. The number of parcels conveyed for the week ended December 26 was 696. This compares more than favourably with the total of 331 for tlie same week in 1936.
