MANSON AND BARR CUP.

PAHIATUA BEAT WOODVILLE. When a rink from the Woodville Club visited Pahiatua on Saturday afternoon to play in a match for the Manson and Barr Cup they suffered defeat. The rinks were : —Woodville : Sincock, Morgan, Henderson and Wicks (skip). Pahiatua: Taylor, Walsh, Hunter and F. Britland (skip). Woodville got away well in the early stage of the ga.me, finding the fast green more to their liking than Pahiatua. When the tea adjournment was taken Woodville were leading 18 —9. Pahiatua at the 19th head had caught up the leeway, the boa.rd reading 22 —all. The next head went to AVoodville with a two and thus Pahiatua required a brace on the last head to retain the cup by a draw or a. three to win. Excitement ran high as the local men sent their bowls down to score the points necessary for a win, the final score being 25—24,
