MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
MOTORIST REMANDED. A man whose name was ordered to be suppressed in the meantime appeared before Messrs J. T. Bosworth and W. G. Ashworth, J.P.’s, in the Magistrate’s Court to-day on a charge of being intoxicated when in charge of a motor-car in Rangitikei Lino, on January 17. Senior-Sergeant Mclntyre asked that defendant be remanded to appear before the Magistrate oil Monday next and the request was granted. Bail was renewed at £SO in defendant’s own recognisance and one surety of £SO, and an order made that his car remain in the custody of the police in the meantime. CHARGE OF TEF-FT. ■ Alfred Dell Reuben Butler, alias Little, a dry cleaner, aged 21, of Chelwood Street, was charged that, on or about December 20, 1937, at Palmerston North, he stole the sura of £3. Mr T. M, N. Rodgers appeared for accused, who was remanded, on the application of Detective-Sergeant Meiklejohn, to appear at Palmerston North on Monday next. Bail was renewed .in a personal surety of £2O and one other of £2O.
