CARS COLLIDE.
MAN ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL. As the result of a collision between two motor cars at the intersection of Church Street and Cook Street at 7 o’clock this morning, a passenger in one of the vehicles, Cecil Charles Adams, of Napier Road, was admitted to'hospital suffering from injuries to the left side of the chest. The extent is unknown pending an X-ray examination. The other occupants had a narrow escape, Mr Ernest Beatson, ol 41 Marne Street, with his wife as a passenger, was proceeding along Cook Street, and when on the intersection his car and another driven by Mr Reese Watson, of Arnesbury Street, collided. Both drivers endeavoured to avoid the collision at the last minute, but the cars met side-by-side. Mr AVatson had as passengers' Messrs .Adams, Sellars, Willis and Prentice, but Mr Adams was the only one to sustain serious injuries. Mr Beatson received minor cuts, and Mrs Beatson received a shaking when she was thrown on to the road as the result of the ca.r door flying open. The vehicles were fairly extensively damaged.
