BUNNYTHORPE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE. Jan. 18. Mr and Mrs A. Jefferies have returned from a motor trip through the Auckland district. Mrs P. Hammond and family and Miss Scheidt are on a holiday at Tangimoana. Mr ahd Mrs J. Baker are on holiday at Otaki. Mrs W. B. Duthie and her daughter, Mrs Cadwoll, and family are on holiday at Tangimoann. The Public Hall Company have been carrying out extensive improvements to the hall. Mr and Mrs C. Pinfold, who have resided in Bunnythorpe for a number of years, are leaving at an early date for Auckland, where they have taken over a business. Tho friends of Mrs Abraham and Miss Casey will be pleased to hear they are well on the road to recovery. Mr J. Temperly, who met with a motor accident some time back, is now getting about again.

A meeting of the Bunnythorpe Sports Committee took place on Monday. Mr D. Ileggie presided over a good attendance. The programme this year is a very attractive one, catering for all sports, including running, cycling, tug-of-war, Faulkner Cup events, and many Highland events. The secretary reported on arrangements already in hand for the sports. Officials for the sports were appointed. The catering was left in the hands of the Tennis Club ladies. A dance committee was set up to make all arrangements. Mr J. G. Duthie, of Wellington, is the guest of Mr W. B. Duthie. The Bunnythorpe Tennis Club team journeyed to Pohangina on Saturday and played a friendly match. The day was ideal and the visitors were well catered for. The match resulted in a win for Pohangina by 18 sets and 131 games to 6, sets and 95 games. Mr and Mrs A. 11. Faulkner, have. left on-a holiday tour of the Waikato and Auckland districts.
