PARTITION PROBLEM.
NO COMPULSION IN NORTH. (Times Cables.) RUGBY, Jan. 10. The diplomatic correspondent of the Times says the problem presented by partition has been appreciably eased by statements by Mr de Valera and previously by Mr Cosgrave that the Government of the rest of Ireland would not apply compulsion to the six northern counties in any circumstances. “It is out of the question, of course,” adds the Times, “that Britain should do so.”
