Friday’s closing prices for raw materials were as follow, those for January 7 being show’n in parentheses: Cotton.—Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 5.02 d a lb, (4.97 d); February delivery, 4.87 d a lb. (4.81 d). Rubber. —Para, 7 l-8d a lb. (same); plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 7 l-8d a lb. (7d). Jute. —January-February shipment, Indian jute, Dundee quotation, £l9 a ton (£lB 14s 4id). Copra.—January-February ship input., sun-dried South Sea, to London or Rotterdam, £l2 12s 6d a ton (£l2 15s) ; smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £l2 7s 6d a ton (£l2 12s 6d) : plantation Rabaul, to London or Rotterdam, £l3 7s 6d a (on (£l3 12s 6d). Linseed oil. —£30 10s a ton (£3O 15s). < Turpentine.—34s a cwt. (325).
