INNINGS WIN TO FEILDING. OLD BOYS’ NARROW VICTORY. The senior cricket matches played on Ivowhai Park on Saturday resulted in an innings victory for Feilding. over Public Service and a narrow win for Old Boys in their game against Colyton. The weather was fine and the grounds were in splendid order. No junior matches were played. PUBLIC SERVICE v FEILDING. W. Dunn’s splendid batting and bowling for Feilding' was largely responsible for Public Service’s innings defeat, for not only did he make 127 runs before being bowled by Barltrop, but also took four wickets for 27. Public Service, in their first strike, had made 191 runs and Feilding in reply knocked up 293. Public Service’s second innings resulted in 100 runs. Dunn, with deadly accuracy, timed the bowling to connect for fours and sixes with almost monotonous precision. Changes in the bowlers made no difference to him and lie piled up a score of 127 in reasonably good time. Tiring somewhat', Dunn became careless and Barltrop bowled him. Laing, who partnered Dunn at the beginning of the innings, scored 31, while M. Buist made 34; T. Donaldson contributed 35 and Cocker not out 26. Barltrop and McLeod accounted for
most of the wickets, the former getting three and the latter four. In Public Service’s second innings the best bat was Bennett, who made 32 before being bowled by Dunn. Hart made 26 and Monteith 24. Best bowling was credited to Dunn (4 for 27) and Fisher (3 for 26). Details are as follow: PUBLIC SERVICE. First innings 191 Second Innings.
