EXPERIENCE IN WAIKATO."' NEARLY 100 DEGREES. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Jan. 17. Not for many years has such continued hot weather been experienced in Hamilton, and yesterday the thermometer in the shade registered 94 degrees. Saturday’s reading in Hamilton was 93 degrees, while during the week an average of over 80 degrees was experienced. In other parts of tho Waikato the temperature has been close on 100 degrees. To date the district has been free of tho peat fires usually associated with dry spells, and no cases are reported of hay stacks firing under the intense heat.
