HAPPIER RELATIONS.
FOREIGN POLITICIANS’ VIEWS. BRITISH MINISTER’S ACCEPTANCE (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Jan. 15. Herr Hitler’s recent statement that “Peace is the goal of my work and that of the Reich Government,” was mentioned in a speech by Sir Thomas Inskip (Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence), who said: “I do not believe that good international understandings are promoted by diffusing a general atmosphere of suspicion about the views or statements of loreign politicians. lam prepared to accept Herr Hitler’s statement at its face value and build upon it a happier relation between Germany and Britain. 1 most heartily reciprocate what he has said.” Sir Thomas Inskip’s speech was mainly devoted to a review of the progress in air rearmament. He declared that the production of air engines was increasing, and that in design and power they were second to none in the world. The shadow factories, with the exception of one near Liverpool, had been substantially completed, and with the advent of the shadow factories results would satisfy the most exacting critics.
