FRENGH POLITICS. M. BONNET’S CHANCES. DANGER OF STRIKES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) PARIS, Jan. 15. After twenty-four hours of active consultations and negotiations France is still without a Cabinet and M. Bonnet’s chances of success seem doubtful. M. Blum has informed M. Bonnet that the Socialists would neither participate in nor support his Cabinet. The Socialist Parliamentary Party adopted a resolution insisting that a new Popular Front Government must be established. The Communist Party issued a manifesto, the terms ol which are interpreted as a threat ol a general strike unless this is carried out. It is reported from Valenciennes that 1100 strikers occupying an art silk factory passed a motion for the suppression of the management in favour of taking over the factory themselves. Mobile guards sent to clear the factory were forced to withdraw. The dockers struck at Bordeaux and a general tramways strike was called at Lille. It is considered there is a danger of the strike movement spreading. M. BONNET - GIVES IN. M*. SARRAUT CALLED ON. Received Januarv 17. 10 a.m. PARIS, Jan. 16. M. Bonnet has relinquished his attempt to form a Ministry. The President, M. Lebrun, lias asked M. Sarraut (former Premier) to form a Popular Front Government.
