Rev. E. Nicholls, of Wanganui, who is conducting both services at the Baptist Church to-morrow, is the guest of Air and Airs AV. G. AYilby, Lombard Street.

A visitor to Palmerston North yesterday was Air John Farrell, who completed arrangements for the appearance here on August 30 of tlio Don Cossack Choir.

Lord Nuffield has been chosen by the Royal Society of Arts as this year’s recipient of the Albert Aledal, for services to industry, transport and medical science. Th death occurred suddenly in his office yesterday morning of Mr William Thomas Findlay, aged 46. accountant to the Department of Health, AVellington. He had not been in the best of health of recent years, but there was nothing to indicate that death was so near.

Air Iven Crump, of Wytidliam, a student in Knox College, Dunedin, has been . accepted by the Presbyterian Church Board of Missions as mission-ary-designate to the Island of Nguna, New Hebrides, in succession to Rev. W. V. Milne, who was killed by a native last April. Air E, Alullcr, who lias occupied the position of vice-president of the Nestle and Anglo-Swiss Holding Company, Ltd., of AVevey, Switzerland, was, at a recent meeting of the board of directors, unanimously elected to the position of president, vice Dr. Louis E. C. Dapples, whose death was 'recently reported. One of the best-known and probably oldest of Auckland’s business men, Air Henry Charles Clioyce, died at his home in Remuera yesterday in his 98th year. Air Choyce was founder and for a long period managing-director of Alilne and Choyce, Limited. He retired from active business 16 years ago, but remained a director of the company until his death. His connection with the drapery trade in Auckland covered a period of about 65 years. Deceased devoted much of his leisure to bowls and lived to be the oldest player in New Zealand taking part in tournaments and club games. Mr Choyce is survived by a son, Mr H. V. Choyce, director of Alilne and Choyce, Limited, and a daughter, Airs Wyvern Wilson. His eldest son, Professor Choyce, Professor of Surgery at London University, died in England last April.—Press Association.
