UNSETTLED. WITH RAIN. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 20. The first of a series of westerly depressions has moved on to the South Island but the pressure changes since yesterday have been comparatively slight. A deeper depression is, however, located over the south-west Tasman Sea. Forecast: Moderate to strong northerly to north-westerly wind, later reaching gale force in some exposed positions. Weather becoming unsettled, with rain developing, more especially in and west of the ranges. Temperatures mild. Seas rather rough to rough. * RIVER GAUGE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Noon. —2ft. 3in.
