LABOUR LEADER’S FEARS. SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. .19. The labour leader, Mr Harry Bridges, addressing the Newspaper Guild, predicted a longer and worse economic crisis in two years’ time. He warned workers to affiliate with the Committee for Industrial Organisation in preparation for such an event. Recalling his Australian experience, he asserted that United States labour, by realising the necessity for political action, was thus entering a phase that other countries had passed through in years gone by.
