ESKIMOS’ STORIES.
HEARD ENGINE OF ’PLANE. NEW YORK, Aug. 18. Mechanics are working feverishly to prepare .the huge flying-boat in which Sir Hubert Wilkins and Mr Hollick Kenyon intend to search ior the missing Soviet fliers. The Alaskan weather is still hampering the searchers. The only clue so far supplied is from Eskimos on Barter Island, • 300 miles from Point Barrow. They said they heard the roar of engines four or five days ago. This raises the possibility that the fliers reached North America.
