BOXING.
LOUIS-FARR FORECASTS. NEW YORK, Aug. 19. Max Schmeling, who arrived to-day, predicted that Joe will win his forthcoming boxing contest against the Welshman, Tommy Farr. . General opinion favours Louis, but this is not perturbing Farr, whose sparing partners have been instructed -to bombard his jaw with left hooks to enable him to strengthen his defence against them. Experts are pleasantly surprised over Farr’s mastery in slipping and rolling, which they consider is not a characteristic of British fighters. Louis is described as more confident and more poised since ho won the title.
