TRUST FUND.

DISPOSAL DISCUSSED. N.D.A. CONFERENCE LEGACY. Information was placed belore the annual meeting of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies’ Association, to-day, that there was in existence a sum of over £7O, the unexpend ed balance of money raised for- the entertainment of delegates at a, National Dairy Association Conference held in Palmerston North some years ago. After a general discussion it was decided to approach the trustees with a suggestion that as the association was composed of representatives of the companies in this district, which had largely subscribed the money, steps be taken to facilitate the handing of the money over to the association, as it would then be applied to the advancement of the industry s interests. The subject was brought forward by a letter from Mr H. E. Pacey (Wellington) , who advised that the fund had been raised for the entertainment of delegates. There had been an unexpended balance and it had been placed with a trust company and had now accumulated to more than £7O. The money' was held in trust by Air Pacey and Mr W. McKenzie, and had been placed on deposit, for a further year. Mr Pacey made ail inquiry as to whait would be the recommendations of the association concerning the ultimate use of the money. A general discussion followed the reading of the letter, a suggestion being made by Mr R. Craig that the trustees be asked to call a meeting of the subscribers, the association to suggest that the money be handed to the ‘ > association. It was eventually decided that the chairman (Mr S. A. Broadbelt) interview Air Pacey and discuss the matter with him,, in Wellington shortly. It was pointed out that the entertainment of delegates at the conference had now been abandoned, as it had become too unwieldy.
