BASKETBALL.
TE KAWAU TEAAIS. The following Te Kawau basketball teams have been chosen to play Wanganui at Wanganui:— Alisses 11. Hill, E. Knox, G. Parsons, E. Hill (captain), Duffy, J. Glasgow, J. George, D. Carter and D. Sargisson; Alisses P. Grev, E. Alurphy, E. Boddy, P. Teaz, AV. Amies, R. Sim, A. Tennent (captain), I. Cornwall, and J. Eades. Emergency for both teams, Aliss 0. Bottcher.
The matches played against Feilding on Saturday resulted in a draw and a win for Feilding. The Te Kawau players gave a disappointing display in every department. The goal-throw-ing at times was very erratic and the centres failed to handle the ball cleanly. The defence had no combination, which they should have developed by now. The cause of Te Kawau’s downfall was long passes, which were easily intercepted. A practice will be held on Wednesday and all ’ players should attend.
