(From Our Own Correspondent.) SHANNON, Aug. 16. The president (Mr A. hi. Ilydo), presided over the annual meeting ot the Bowling and Cloquet. TIook; delegate to Manavvutu Centre, Mr H. W T . Bovis (Palmerston North). The opening day was fixed for October 16. All local football matches were postponed on Saturday owing to the Test mutch at Wellington, and "a largo number of enthusiasts visited the city., Mr A. Semple (postmaster) is on furlough and is being relieved by Mr H. McGucrin. Mr F. Thurston, of the Bank of New Zealand, is on holiday and Mr GJenny (Hastings) is relieving him.
