ARBITRATION COURT.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Aug. 18. A year to the day since the commencement of the last . sitting in Auckland, the Arbitration Court opened its sitting to-day. Air Justice O'Regan is president and his associates are Air A. L. Alonteith and Air W. Cecil Prime. The list contains 45 compensation claims and 65 industrial disputes. The cases will be heard from August 31 to September 17. The interim will be occupied with argument on the standard rate of wages. Air Justice O'Regan expressed the hope that some of the parties would come together and lessen the work of the Court. He said that the Court had recently finished a nine weeks’ sitting at Christchurch and had been sitting on Saturdays and sometimes at night so as to be able to sit at Auckland to-day.
